Company recognized for impressive growth, driven by innovative technology and superior self-service approach to business intelligence
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Sisense, the leader in simplifying analytics for complex data, today announced it has been ranked as a winner among the Red Herring Top 100 North America, a prestigious list honoring the year’s most promising private technology ventures from North America, and celebrating innovations across industries. Sisense, disrupting the BI market with its In-Chip™ analytics and self-service approach to analytics, was recognized by Red Herring for its disruptive technology and notable growth, as the company rapidly increases revenues and customer acquisition.
Since 1996, Red Herring Top 100 America has enlisted outstanding entrepreneurs and promising companies, selecting the award winners from approximately 1,200 privately-financed companies each year in the U.S. and Canada. Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype, Salesforce.com, YouTube, Palo Alto Networks and eBay would change the way we live and work.
“In 2016, selecting the top achievers was extremely difficult,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “The variety, depth, disruption and traction we saw from the early stage companies to those with significant scale made it one of the toughest vintages to judge. The North America winners are representative of the amazing ecosystem that never ceases to astound, with new and experienced entrepreneurs continuing to push the barriers of innovation. As one of the winners, Sisense should be proud of its accomplishment under such strong competition.”
Sisense was chosen as a winner in the Red Herring Top 100 based on its growth, technology innovation and impressive market expansion in 2015, which was followed quickly by a $50M round of funding in January 2016 led by Bessemer Venture Partners. In 2015, Sisense gained the trust of hundreds of new customers, from Fortune 500 firms to small businesses, expanding its global footprint across 50 countries. The company also broke new records, with consecutive quarters of greater than 100 percent net renewal from its existing customer base.
“Sisense is continuing to disrupt the $33 billion business analytics market by remaining hyper-focused on our customers – what their data needs are today, and what they’ll be tomorrow,” says Amir Orad, CEO of Sisense. “Red Herring’s acknowledgment of our disruptive growth is further proof that our self-service approach is resonating in the market, as more companies look to innovative BI solutions that remove IT complexity and put powerful analytics in the hands of business users.”
As businesses today continue to rely on data to inform business decisions, they are dealing with increasingly complex data sets that are both large, and come from multiple, disparate sources. Sisense helps businesses overcome this complexity by removing the IT burden, enabling business users to prepare, analyze and visualize data insights quickly and cost-effectively.
Red Herring’s editorial staff evaluated companies on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technological innovation and intellectual property, DNA of the founders, business model, customer footprint and market penetration. This assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the track record and standing of startups relative to their sector peers, allowing Red Herring to see past the “buzz” and make the list a valuable instrument of discovery and advocacy for the most promising new business models in North America.
